Lakes Computer is looking for a creative, self-accountable IT professional to engage in our fast-paced, people-driven service model. Average IT people tend to be great at solving technical issues, but poor at understanding the true problems that need to be solved.

We are looking for a technician to join our MSP. This person will be responsible for handling the majority of day to day user requests and tickets for clients. This position requires a person who can communicate about complex ideas and technology in simple everyday terms.

  • Ticket management and documentation
  • Learning independently about our clients’ organic technology systems
  • Doing what it takes to create enthusiastically satisfied customers through the building of trust, credibility and relationships within our client base

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in an IT help desk or desktop support environment
  • Experience supporting Google Chrome Devices is a plus
  • Working experience with networking principles, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, NAT, IPSEC, WIFI, and A/CName Records
  • A demonstrated history of pursuing learning objectives independently
  • 2+ years’ experience troubleshooting or supporting Microsoft platforms (e.g. Office 365, Active Directory, all current flavors of Windows)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience troubleshooting network infrastructures
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining peripherals (scanners, fax machines, printers, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting standard hardware issues and running diagnostics
  • Working experience with standard IT Security practices such as virus remediation, phishing, and exposure to different Firewall systems
  • Proficiency in Apple, Mac OS, and iOS troubleshooting and support
  • Proficiency in VoIP Phone systems is a big plus
  • Demonstrable ability to quickly learn and support various business applications
  • Understanding of backup and disaster recovery (BDR) best practices and experience troubleshooting BDR topologies
  • The ability to effectively manage client expectations around service delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients at all levels and peers at Lakes Computer
  • An understanding of how a small change can impact the bigger picture of a technology network
  • An understanding of complex systems and how the different pieces interact

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive wages | The salary range is expected to start at $44,000. Our offer will be determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
